PRE-NOTICE OF RACE
1 ORGANISING AUTHORITY
The Organising Authority (OA) will be CLUBE NAVAL DE CASCAIS and MARTIN PAYNE .
The venue will be Cascais – Portugal

Wednesday, 5 April 10:30 Warning Signal for the 1st Race of the Day
3.2 On Wednesday, 5 April, no warning signal will be made after 16:00
4 SKIPPERS ELIGIBILITY
(a) 12 skippers will be invited. Only skippers invited by the OA will be eligible to enter this event.
(b) To remain eligible a skipper shall confirm acceptance of invitation in writing, (e-mail is acceptable) to be received by the date specified on the letter of invitation.
5.1 The skipper shall be entered on completion of registration, crew weighing and the payment of all fees and deposits. All payments shall be made by credit card or local currency.
5.2 Entry Fee. The entry fee is 300€ and includes the participation in all scheduled social activities
(a) The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the RRS, and including Appendix C.
(b) The rules for the handling of boats will apply, and will also apply to any practice sailing and sponsor races. Class rules will not apply.
(c) Any prescriptions of the national authority that will apply shall be posted on the official notice board.
6.2 Major Alterations to the RRS
Add to RRS 41: (e) help to recover from the water and return on board a crew member, provided the return on board is at the approximate location of the recovery.
7 BOATS AND SAILS
7.1 The event will be sailed in 12 Dragon Class boats.
7.2 Each crew shall provide their own boat with a full set of sails.
7.3 Boat Damage: Competitors will be liable for the first 1.000€ of damages caused to the Boats.
8 CREW (INCLUDING SKIPPER)
The number of crew (including the skipper) shall be 3. All registered crew shall sail all races.
9 EVENT FORMAT
The event will consist of the several stages and it’s the intention of the OA to have the skippers doing as many races as possible before advancing to the final stage, where only the best 4 teams will be racing.
Races will be held in Cascais Bay close to shore and the courses will be windward/leeward with starboard rounding’s with downwind finishing.
All those taking part in the event do so at their own risk. The OA, its associates and appointees accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or inconvenience incurred, howsoever caused.
Insurance of boats is included, but Competitors will be liable for the first 1.000€ of damages caused to the Boats.
Competitors must have their own personal and boat insurances.
Entries will only be accepted from invited skippers. If you wish to be invited please register your request for an invitation as soon as possible with the OA by completing the attached form.
