Past Commodore of the Eastern Yacht Club
Eastern Yacht Club
Phil, who lives in Marblehead Massachusetts, has been a member of both Eastern and New York Yacht Clubs since the early 70’s. In addition to serving as an officer, director and Past Commodore of the Eastern Yacht Club, he has served as President and director of a number of youth organizations, including the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras.
Phil was a 35 year partner at Boston law firm, Ropes & Gray, where he specialized in complex financings, private equity transactions and designing unique governance structures for businesses. He has served as counsel to a number of charitable organizations and is familiar with the laws relating to the tax treatment of contributions to yachting related charitable organizations.
For many years, Phil crewed in both one-design and offshore regattas nationally and internationally. The Commodore’s Forum in Auckland resulted in the purchase of a SeaLegs Amphibious RIB named Wheelie Fast which he uses to take photographs of sailing regattas.
