Real Club Náutico Barcelona
Toni Tió, executive president of the Barcelona Nautical Cluster was born in Barcelona, in 1949. He studied at the School of Engineers of Barcelona and then worked at Cheret Voiles, La Rochelle and North Sails, Munich. In 1978, he returned to Spain to fund his own sail loft, Toni Tió Velas, which he directed until 2010. From 2010 to 2013 he was commercial technical advisor of North Sails Spain in Barcelona.
In May 2013, he was named executive president of the Barcelona Nautical Cluster. He is also a member of the Organizing Committee of the Barcelona International Boat Show since 1979 and, since 2005, member of the board of the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona. He has been 13 years in the Organizing Committee of the Copa del Rey de vela, organized by the Real Club Náutico Barcelona.
As a sailor he has won some of the most important regattas on the national and international scene, such as the Swan Cup, the Conde de Godó Trophy, the Zegna Trophy and the Copa del Rey. In addition, as a manufacturer of sails boards, nine Olympic medals.
