NOTICE OF RACE


1 RULES
1.1 The event will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 The Notice of Race of each regatta.
1.3 The Sailing Instructions of each regatta, witch in case of conflict will prevail under all the previous rules.
1.4 The International Six Metre Class Rule


2 ADVERTISING
Boats may be required to display bow numbers and/or advertising chosen and supplied by the Organizing Authority. If this rule is broken, World Sailing Regulation 20.9.2 applies.

3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the Six Metre International Class in open and classic division.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it, together with the required fee, to:

or send it by email to: regatas@cncascais.com
or fill the online entry form available at the event web site in www.cncascais.com by 03/07/2022.
3.3 The Organising Authority reserves the right to accept entries after the established deadline.
3.4 The entry fee for the full series is 1.200€ and can be payed by Bank Tranfers throught:

The entry fee for each individual event is 400€.
The Entry fee for support boats in each infividual event is 200€.
3.5 No fees are refundable after the entry closing date. Before that date entry fees will be refunded after deducting 50% for administration expenses.

4. SCHEDULE
• Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy| 9th to 10th July
• Seljm Cup| 23rd to 24th July
• Cascais Vela| 26th to 28th August
• HM JKing Juan Carlos Trophy | 2nd to 4th September
4.1 Number of races:
Class - Number Races per day
6m Open & Classic - 3
4.2 No more than 4 races will be sailed per day.
4.3 On Sundays, no warning signal will be made after 16:00.
5 MEASUREMENTS
All boats shall have a valid Measurement Certificate according to the rules of the 6m International Class Association. Copy of this Document should be presented at registration.
6 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available to all competitors during the registration period of each series.

7 VENUE
7.1 The regatta will be held on the Clube Naval de Cascais facilities.
7.2 The races will be held on Cascais Bay and on the Guia race areas.

8 THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed will be windward/leeward with a spreader mark.

9 PENALTY SYSTEM
For the 6m class, RRS 44.1 is changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.

10 SCORING
10.1 An overall ranking for the full Series will be made with the final result of each series. There will be a 1 event discard after the third event; . All results are referent to the boat.
10.2 The scoring of the overall ranking will be the summ of the overall result of each series, with one event discard.
10.3 RRS A5.3 will apply.

11 SUPPORT BOATS
11.1 Support boats shall be registered at the race office during the registration period. They shall display either an identification flag of minimum size 50 cm x 40 cm with their national letters or their national letters in black on a white background on the cover of their outboard engine.
11.2 Parking of support boats will be charged at the club normal rates.

12 BERTHING
12.1 Boats shall be kept in their assigned places in the harbour. Except otherwise permitted or requested by the OA.
12.2 The club can also arrange, at competitors costs, a berth at the Marina de Cascais for coach rib, which must be requested in advanced.

13 HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS
From 20h00 on the day before the beginning of the races, boats shall not be hauled out during each regatta, from the preperaratory signal of the first race until the end of the regatta, except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee.

14 DIVING EQUIPMENT AND PLASTIC POOLS
Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around keel boats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of each regatta.

15 RADIO COMMUNICATION
15.1 A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
15.2 The Race Committee may use VHF radio to communicate to the Fleet, including the starting area, countdown to the start, OCS bow/sail numbers (to be communicated at least 2 minutes after the start), general recalls, BFD's, UFD's and Postponements. Failure to make these broadcasts or failure to hear them shall not constitute grounds for redress. This changes RRS 62.1

16 PRIZES
Prizes will be given to the top 3 boats of the overall for each division. Additional prizes may be awarded.

17 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 3, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

18 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 305.000€ per event or the equivalent.
