The Olympic sailor from Clube Naval de Cascais, Bernardo Freitas, competed on the Spanish team at SailGP in Los Angeles leg. The championship took place between July 22th and 23th and featured the participation of 10 teams: Australia, Germany, Canada, Denmark, Spain, United States, France, Great Britain, New Zealand, and Switzerland.

In this second event of the season, the Spanish team won the final and claims their first victory at SailGP.

This fourth season of SailGP will have 12 events: Chicago, Los Angeles, Saint-Tropez, Taranto, Cadiz, Emirates, Sydney, Auckland, Bermuda, Canada, New York, and San Francisco.
