On the second day of the 2nd Cascais Dragon Winter Series, the weather forecast stated that there would be win early in the morning and for that reason Race Committee schedule an early start for the fleet. With the wind from the east quadrant and at around 7 knots at 10h, as predicted, the starting procedures for the only race held on the second day began.

In the first start attempt, the fleet pushed its luck too much, approaching the start line too early, with the competitors being sent back in a general recall. In the second and final attempt, and this time with the U flag, four boats were disqualified due to an early start, including Grant Gordon's Louise Racing and Pete Cooke's Meteor, respectively leader and third overall at the end of the first day. of the event.

Race four winner, and the only winner off the second day, went to the British team Blue Haze, led by Ivan Bradburry with Lars Hendriksen and George Leonchuck. They led the race from the beginning until they crossed the finish line.

Lars Hendriksen explained that “We haven't been to Cascais for 5 years and we are training a new starting technique. We try to cross the start line with full speed. This is a type of start that work very well for us and from the start of the race where we go at maximum speed and we are clear, our lives become much easier. We led the race from the beginning until the end where we worked on wind shifts and the other boats. It seemed easy but it's never easy (winning the race). ”

At the end of the second day, Grant Gordon's Louise Racing team, with Luke Patience, Faye Chatterton and Elliot Hanson, remained in the lead. The Royal Yach Squadron boat maintained its position because even with the UFD in the fourth race, due to an early start, it was saved by the discard of the worst race in the overall. In second place was the winner of the only race held on the second day, Ivan Bradburry's Blue Haze. Xavier Vanneste's Herbie with Portuguese Olympians Gustavo Lima and Frederico Melo fell to the last podium place after finishing the second day's regatta on third position.

For the last day of the championship, with three races scheduled, and the 7 top teams separated by 8 points, leaves everything open.

This championship has the support of the Municipal Chamber of Cascais, the Cascais Tourism Association, the Cascais Marina, Vista Alegre and Pettitcrows.
