Fremantle, Australia, hosted the Etchells World Championship. From March 15th to 22nd, 40 boats competed.

The sailor from the Clube Naval Cascais, Gonçalo Ribeiro, aboard the American boat "Rogue" with Hugo Rocha, Scott Kaufman and Carlos Robles, finished in 8th overall.
